Testimonial Dinner and Basement

It is the day we have been waiting for because it is our chance to see our batch mates after graduating last March. Everybody was excited and at the same time wondering because as we received the text message that there will be a testimonial dinner. Everybody's question was "Is it for free?" and yes it was as everyone who received the message was expected to call the Dean's secretary to confirm their attendance and could inquire about the incoming event. It was held at the Mondragon House. We are wondering why the venue was there thinking that the school would rather choose to held occasions like this in the school ground, saving them money since it is only for free. Luckily for us that it was held outside the school grounds and for the fact that the Mondragon House was located in Makati.

Around 5pm, I was all set to the said event and I was supposed to accompany my other classmates to the venue since they never knew where it was, but because of a saying "family first", I decided to go with my family since it's my brother's birthday the other day and my mother decided that we should have dinner that night.

Around 7 to 8pm, I was at the Paseo Center specifically at Teriyaki Boy eating dinner, I didn't ate much because I was expected to come to the testimonial dinner later that night. I was texting my other classmates that was already there and asking if the event has already started and he said that it was and they were already having their dinner.

At 8pm, I was dropped by the Mondragon House and I thought that I was the only one who came late but when I went up to the second floor where the event was held, luckily for me that there were many of us who were late. After signing the attendance and after presenting the new registered nurses, we decided to enter the hall and start to find my group of friends. I had the chance to eat even though that dinner was already over and the program started a few minutes ago.

As the program went by at the same time we mingle to our batch mates and our professors, saying our hi and hello's to them. After an hour the program was finished and was closed by singing our alma mater hymn. And of course the photo session with the whole batch, together with the school administrators and our professors. Everyone with digital camera's flaunt it with their friends. Unfortunately, my camera doesn't have batteries since it's batteries was so expensive yet it's life's use was only short. I also had the chance to talk to our Dean, since she had helped us when we were filing our application in PRC Baguio and I also told her that we were just neighbors. She even offered me a ride home, but of course I would rather not accept it and just made an alibi that my parents were waiting for me downstairs, which is not true.

After all the photo sessions and the event was already done, gimik time is next and we are undecided to where to go. Our other friends decided to went home and the other half wants to hang out somewhere. We ended up going to Libis specifically at the Basement with an entrance fee of P200 inclusive of 3 drinks which we could choose from an iced tea and beer.

I didn't have the chance to dance since the music played inside was not my type. I'd rather look to those who were dancing and the people around. Around 2am, three of our friends decided to go home and we intend to stay until 4am. We just went at the stage and seated there for an hour and had my chit chat with my friends since I asked them a favor to stay at least up to 5am there because it was still dark and it is dangerous in our area around that time to go home riding a bus. At last the sun started to shine when we reached the Pasay area and decided to ride a jeep going home. c",)

Oath Taking Day

It's been two weeks since I blogged about things or about everyday life... since I don't have work yet I just have my daily routine of waking up, watching t.v. the whole day and eating three important meals per day. These past two weeks is a rainy day and I was so lazy to get out of the house and how could I get out? I even don't have enough money to just eat outside or meet some friends within the subdivision.

October 1 came and I had the chance to talked to Motmot about our plans for tomorrow's event which is our oath taking at the Araneta Coliseum around 8am and our expected guest Karlo.

I woke up around 5:45am even though I set my cellphone to alarm at 5:00am, what else is new? even though I set the alarm at a certain time that I want, still I would wake up late as I expected. Motmot was about to fetch me around 6am because her car is on coding so we better get to the venue before 7am or else she could be stopped and be ticketed by the MMDA traffic enforcer. Fortunately, we arrived at the venue within 30 minutes and there is already a queue, but first we have to find a parking space for her car and luckily found one near the entrance. Before we get out of the car, I waited for her to finish fixing her self like putting some make-up and fixing her hair and putting her nurse's cap. When all is set and done, we decided to enter the premises because it's a first come, first serve seating arrangement. We haven't eaten our breakfast which is the important meal of the day and decided to bought some burgers and bottled water from Wendy's which is located inside the coliseum. Motmot got her friend to come with her since she is alone. We got our souvenir program near the entrance which is for free, would you believe it? There are also those annoying people who forcibly place a ribbon on our gala and saying that they are the official photographer of the PRC, but sorry for them I turned them down and said that it isn't necessary anyway. We managed to get to our seats having a great view from the stage. Luckily some of my schoolmates were seated infront of us. The program started around 9:30am, as usual delayed as expected. The speaker announced that the seats are just enough for the inductees but many of the late inductees don't have seats and others decided to stand up or be seated on the stairs while the program is going on. The program is kinnda boring because of the speakers and of the presentation of the top 10. We are just an audience for them and just got to participate when the oath taking is already the next in line. We also had our nurse's pledge and the oath taking for the PNA. After the program, we took some pictures while inside the dome and went outside to meet our expected guest. I also managed to take some pictures with my classmates even though my digicam doesn't work because I don't have new batteries to replaced the old ones, instead I borrowed my mother cellphone which has a cam feature.

After the oath taking, we went inside the Gateway Mall to change our outfits into more comfortable ones. We are supposed to have our lunch there but decided to eat at Trinoma since we have to rush going there before 3pm because of the coding again. But before we got into the car, it was already raining hard outside and can't get there even by running. My sight starts getting blurred and that signals me to eat already and I need some sugar. Since the car was parked near the entrance of the coliseum and infront of the GoNuts Donuts, we decided to have some donuts to surpass our hunger.

When we reached Trinoma we are undecided as to where are we going to have our lunch, we picked from Cibo, Recipes, La Mesa Grill and ended up at California Pizza Kitchen. The idea was good since I haven't eaten at those restaurants and decided to give it a shot. We ordered a pizza which is named "Worker's", which is their best-seller and a pasta which is looked like a carbonara but when you tasted it, it just melts in your mouth. For our drinks, Motmot and I ordered a raspberry iced tea which is refillable. Karlo ordered different sodas which is also refillable. Motmot and I decided that it's our treat to Karlo since we are already a registered nurse. We strolled and checked out the different stores inside the mall and also strolled outside because they have a garden and fountain outside surrounding the front and top of the mall. We also dropped by Dairy Queen to buy some treats. Then we strolled again and didn't have the chance to watch a movie since the time is already approching 6pm and the coding ends at 7pm so we decided to eat at Taco Bell and decided to go home around 8pm... Oh what a great tiring day!!! ^_^
